Senior Cloud Data Engineering Consultant - Snowflake/Matillion

The Senior Cloud Data Engineering Consultant role is key to accomplishing Data Clymer’s mission: Enable every organization to build a culture around data. This exciting role allows you to utilize your expertise in multiple industry leading cloud technologies for data & analytics systems (DW, BI, ETL). In addition, this role exposes you to a variety of industries and use cases where you can expand your knowledge base in industry leading technologies and methodologies. You will also have the opportunity to share your knowledge by teaching and mentoring your team members as well as clients on best practices in data engineering. The Senior Cloud Data Engineering Consultant will work closely with the Project Management team to ensure project success and client satisfaction. This role requires a high level of collaboration, mentoring skills, technical ability, and problem solving skills.

What you do:

  • Contribute to Data Clymer to become a premier data consulting firm.
  • Provide feedback to the management team to set policies on how Data Clymer operates.
  • Interface and communicate with clients directly and with your teammates on a daily basis.
  • Build trust with our customers and drive long-lasting relationships.
  • Conduct technical discussions with client stakeholders and client engineers.
  • Follow Data Clymer’s design patterns and culture change methodology.
  • Write clean, smart code that will scale.
  • Design and implement analytical data models.
  • Develop data pipelines (ETL) using Matillion, Fivetran  or DBT.
  • Configure data warehouse accounts, roles, databases, and schemas .
  • Develop views, materialized views, and SQL scripts.
  • Work with client teams to help create a data driven culture.
  • Help devise and implement the best solution based on requirements and your experience.
  • Audit data and drive issues through to resolution.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the gathering and documenting of project requirements.
  • Research and implement technical solutions for client projects.
  • Develop analytics through BI tools using Looker, Tableau and Sigma.
  • Review work of other team members before deploying or communicating with clients.
  • Help the Project Manager coordinate efforts between Data Clymer team members to ensure alignment and efficiency.

  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency with Python.
  • Experience building data pipelines in Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Desire to work with external customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Mentorship or leadership experience or capabilities
  • Track record of owning project success.
  • 5+ years of data or analytics experience
  • 3+ Years of Data Warehousing Experience

Nice to experience to have:

  • Consulting experience.
  • Experience with Matillion, FiveTran or DBT.
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Data Engineering.
  • Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query, Azure).
  • Data science / machine learning concepts.
  • Certifications in data technologies.
