Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager is one of the most important positions to Data Clymer’s mission: Enable every organization to build a culture around data. This pivotal role is responsible for the overall success of Data Clymer’s customer projects. You have the keys to design and update the project processes used by our teams and the customer to complete a project. You have the authority to drive the project to an on-time on-budget completion and ensure our customers are happy.

The Technical Project Manager is motivated to grow Data Clymer to be a premier data consultancy. They are a leader for specific projects and a leader in the organization. Key areas include but not limited to:

  • People – Developing long-lasting relationships with the client. Educating, mentoring, and teaching team members best practices. Exhibiting the highest levels of empathy and humility.
  • Projects – Owning how projects are delivered and ensuring execution.
  • Profits – Ensuring Data Clymer’s revenue goals are obtained.

What you do:

  • Collaborate with the management team to help the organization grow and be profitable.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the project management process including documentation and process improvements.
  • Own driving projects to be within scope, on-time, and on-budget completion.
  • Work closely with the project team to develop a detailed project plan with clear milestones and timelines.
  • Monitor and track progress and keep the plan up to date as new information becomes available.
  • Ensure all documents and deliverables are obtained from the customer and Data Clymer sales team and made available to stakeholders.
  • Translate between the business and technical requirements to stakeholders.
  • Continually monitor the status of the project including utilization hours, timeframes, and budgets.
  • Meet regularly with project stakeholders to review project status; work completed, blockers, next steps, timeframes.
  • Report to the management team the status of projects and raise any issues that affect the delivery of the project or utilization of team members.
  • Work with Account Managers and Managing Consultants to hit utilization targets.
  • Collaborate with the management team to help forecast project hours and ensure resource coverage for yours and all projects.
  • Become an expert in Data Clymer’s project management systems.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Train new team members on processes and internal tools.
  • Performing data analysis to answer key business questions.
  • Identify opportunities to extend projects or obtain new projects.
  • Conduct project retrospectives and discover areas of improvement.

  • Amazing communication skills with clients and internal teams from sales to engineering.
  • High energy and action-oriented with a history of getting things done in complex, fast- moving environments. Successful in scrappy and entrepreneurial environments, with a drive to get things done.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain alignment across people at various levels and functions.
  • Results oriented with a strong work ethic. Must be tenacious, with the emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look for alternatives.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple roles from technical to executive level.
  • Willingness to dive into an issue and work through resolution.
  • Technical project management or analytics project management experience.
  • A passion for learning new technologies and skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with BI tools and data visualization best practices; Looker, Tableau.
  • Experience with Data Warehousing; Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query.
  • Creating dashboards and building data analytics.
  • Working in a rapid growth environment.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python.
  • Performing data analysis to answer key business questions.
  • Ability to help with data modeling as needed.
