My first year at Data Clymer has been nothing short of thrilling. I think what I have most enjoyed has been the flexible schedule, the groundbreaking work opportunities, the great company culture, and the abundant training and professional development.

Have you ever worked for a company that preached work-life balance but didn’t follow through and support it when push came to shove? Data Clymer has defeated that culture and has stood behind its employees in support of their decisions to work only 40 hours a week, and to work at times most convenient to them, not to mention we all work remotely from the comfort of our homes. I have been able to enjoy more time with my family in the last year than I ever have before. Having the freedom to control your schedule and be where you need to be for those you love is energizing and Data Clymer has truly made it all possible. In fact, I would venture to say that I work harder during those 40 hours because I know my work day doesn’t need to drag on for me to feel like I made a difference in my work load.

In the realm of data, the more data sets you work with, the more valuable you become in the workforce. At Data Clymer, you’re able to work with multiple clients at once, across a variety of industries. So far, I’ve had the chance to be part of discovery projects, implementation of data stacks, health checks, and staff aug. With some clients, I am the sole contributor, working with a small company. With other clients, I work for an enterprise organization using multiple analysts and engineers from both Data Clymer and the client’s company. This variety provides me with a fast-track exposure to work ethics, processes, and data sets across multiple industries.

Management at Data Clymer cares about our career development in defining where we want to be in six months, a year, or ten years down the road. They also care about our experience at Data Clymer. When we are first hired, we have a 30/60/90 day plan to meet and discuss our goals and journey at the company. They learn about our interests and want us to work on projects that will benefit our career paths and align with what we want to do long-term.

Data Clymer effectuates the mindset that when we are meeting with a client, we can solve any problem. On our own, it seems like a daunting task, but when we as a team put our heads together and draw upon our combined and vast knowledge, we have been able to solve the most challenging problems that arise as we consult with other companies. Data Clymer encourages us to be certified in the technologies we use, which demonstrates to clients that we are experts and they can trust us to help. We have a tradition called “Snack and Learn” where Data Clymer employees share what tools they use, how they navigate challenges, and/or a new technology they have learned. The Snack and Learns encourage us to share information that benefits everyone across the Data Clymer chain.

Overall, my first year at Data Clymer has provided me with experience that would have taken me years to achieve otherwise, particularly assisting companies with any and all types of data. What has mattered most to me, though, has been the flexible schedule I’ve enjoyed as well as the company culture that supports me in doing my best and works hard to be a firm stepping stone for my career path. Because of Data Clymer, I feel like a better analyst, professional, and person. Come join us! I promise you will not regret it.
